Our Favorite Local Restaurants
Nonic at Highside Market is a new favorite in town. The vibes are great, but the food is even better. If you go for brunch, we recommend making a reservation! Or, put your name down and mill around the cool shops inside Highside while you wait.
The Wicked Hen located in midtown Columbus offers up classic southern cuisine with a fresh spin. You won't go wrong with their Shrimp & Grits or Fried Green Tomato sandwich.
Banks Food Hall is great for a crowd with diverse tastes. Located right on the Chattahooche River, this food hall has seven different stalls and serves everything from tacos to poke bowls.
The Mix Market is a great game day spot if you're looking for classic pub food in an elevated environment with televisions playing non-stop college football. They don't take reservations, so we recommend going early to scope out a table.
The Lunch Counter at Dinglewood Pharmacy serves up old-school charm and the best hot pink hot dogs you'll ever have. Enjoy a scrambled dog, cut up weenie, with extra pickles and crackers (the bride's go-to order!) at this 107-year-old Columbus classic.
Our Favorite Local Attractions
The Bo Bartlett Center is Anna's favorite museum in town. The small gallery showcases the work of her favorite Columbus artist, Bo Bartlett.
The Columbus Museum, though, is home to Anna's favorite work of Bartlett's, a 1995 work entitled 'Homecoming.' The museum is also home to a great kids' space that Anna enjoyed as a child.
The Chattahooche Riverwalk is a great place to stretch your legs during the day. Enter down by Wavershaper Island to watch the white water rapids and kayakers on warm, sunny days.
The National Infantry Museum presents a deep look back into America's past and the military operations that shaped it. The museum is extremely well curated and offers interactive and immersive exhibits.
Callaway Gardens offers a lovely escape out of the city. Explore the quaint town of Pine Mountain or grab lunch at the Country Store on your way to the Butterfly Center. Plan for travel to Callaway to take at least one hour from downtown Columbus.
